I am a researcher in the Center for Translational and Policy Research on Precision Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. After earning my PhD from the University of California, Davis, I was a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University studying health policy and innovation. In 2013, I wrote a book, Chronic Resilience, which was a personal examination of the patient experience. I told stories of resilience that demonstrated how seemingly individual experiences with the health care system are fundamentally connected.
